Growing up I had a blue roan cocker spaniel named Rory. He was adopted by us when a family member had to move overseas. He was a cheeky chappy and a big part of the reason I fell in love with dogs. Even now I have a special soft spot in my heart for spaniels!
One of my first jobs was working in a kennels, a great experience for learning about the different needs and personalities of the breeds (and their owners!). I've since worked with a range of animal species, mostly birds, before deciding to concentrate on working with dogs.
I gained my level 2 and 3 City and Guilds certificates in Dog Grooming at Plumpton College (East Sussex), achieving distinction grades in both. While I currently don't own a dog of my own, The Canine Club allows me to get my fix of dogs and keeps me sane.
