For as long as I can remember I have been around animals. My family always had numerous pets - it even got us an article in the Manchester Evening News - so it was a given that I would have a career with animals.
After finishing my degree at Chester university in English and Psychology, where I majored in comparative psychology and was lucky enough to conduct two studies at Chester Zoo, one on the spectacled bears and one on the chimpanzees, I trained to become a qualified horse riding instructor.
When I was made redundant I decided to change direction and start up my own children's gift company. I loved my business but working inside all the time didn't suit me, so when I saw the job going at Canine Club I knew it would be perfect.
I have worked at The Canine Club since May 2013 and it is a fantastic place to work; everyone has a shared passion for animals, the whole team are so friendly and supportive and the facilities and daily atmosphere is lovely. It rarely feels like 'work'. Since joining the Canine Club team I have successfully completed my Dog Grooming Diploma and am now part of our busy onsite grooming studio 2 days a week. The rest of my working week is focussed on promoting our ever expanding Shop, which stocks a great range of high quality dog food and accessories.
Pictured with me are my two gorgeous dogs, Daisy my rescue Collie cross who is 11yrs old and is enjoying a more sedate lifestyle than her younger years and Fred my Pomeranian cross who is 8yrs but still thinks he is a puppy!!
